Taare zameen par , a reflection of every slow learner student in indian school . The characteristics of Lead Roal played by Darshi Safari a young talent of child artist named Ishaan Nandakishor Awasti is eight years old boy who hate shool routine. And failed in exam. He find difficulty in understanding because of a disease called 'dyslexia' . He tolerate belittled and bullying from the teacher , the friends and mate also humiliate him , which makes him angry, and he make fight with other. He failed in his all subject because of 'dyslexia' .But his family think he has no intention to study so they try to admitting him in a boarding school.

His parents also not able to know, nor understood ,  they just make pressure on him, to getting up his study. Because of the disease , Nandakishor could not recognised the word teacher spoken to them in the class ,he also face difficulty with reading phrases. Going through , he had lack of

self-confidence,He can't  compare his own self with other. Once he though to end up his life during the boarding school, but he change his mind after seen one of his close specially mate 'Shake hands' with life. 

After that scene the movie is more interesting when Mr. Perfectionist of bollywood Amir khan sharing screen with Ishaan , Amir khan played a role of Art teacher. Who has a different prospective of life then other teacher of that boarding shool , He also motivate pupils in his class , teaching the life Lession in a creative and Artistic way.

He inspires pupils to increase their imagination it was a eye opener for them in that age. The situation is beautifully placed by the song " Bam Bam Bhole" . 

Amir khan named as 'Ram Shankar Nikumbh' or students call him Nikumbh sir. The character 'Nikumbh sir' faced many difficulty when he try to tough the lesson in a different way from other teacher. He discover the actual talent of Ishaan Awasti , and inspire him to think as Ishaan like when he got in  touch with ishaan's creative world. he move to ishaan home , and got to know that Ishaan had interested painting. then he discover a small note book with a motion art. That described how Ishaan is getting away from his family. But here the director amir khan picturised a caring indian mother . Soon after Nikumbh sir comes to light Ishaan ability and disability , capabilities and incapacity in from of his own parents. And said about the typical indian parents who want to make there child topper or rankers. But no one is ready to know what the child wants to be , what he love or what he or she can do. Then his parents understand there fault. Nikumbh also encouraged Ishaan telling his past story that he  also has same neurological disease in childhoon but now he is working as a respective job of sociaty it encourage Ishaan , and Ishaan agin start painting in a school program organised by Nikumbh. Where all teacher express the imagination through art. And finally Ishaan got the 1st prize by the chief gust of that art competition
